In February of 2005, on Welge Hill
in Doss Texas, the National
Museum of the Pacific War
reenacted the battle for Iwo Jima
including the raising of Old Glory on
Mt. Suribachi. Over 360 living
historians, 40 from Japan,
assaulted or defended the hill twice
in one weekend. Over 20,000.
people came out to watch.
