I rode the Texas Cyclone on the day it
opened.  I also rode it on the day it
closed.  I was seven on opening day.
I remember being worried that I
wouldn't be tall enough to ride.  I was.
I remember the chain clicking, wood
creaking and the coaster screaming
as it sped by us while we waited in
line.  Most of all I remember being
scared to death when the lap bar
came down and I could no longer get
out.  I loved it.

Once I learned that Astroworld was
closing permanently, I went every
weekend just to photograph the
Cyclone.  No tripods, no flashes, just
me and my camera.

I'm sad to see it go.
